today i arrived in barcelona. i took the train here from milan after being in florence to see my brothers new apartment. florence was cool. my brothers apartment is very bizarre because it looks like some swinging gay bachelor pad but everything in it is really cheap and just looks like it's expensive. because of this matt and his roommates started calling it the model home from arrested-which is very fitting.
when i was walking out of an internet cafe in florence i saw maddy romano - a friend from highschool- on the street. it was really really weird and exactly what i heard of happening to people when they were abroad. it was even weirder when she told me she was about to meet up with evan witty-another good friend from highschool. then later that night i met up with kyle (bain) at matt's friends apartment. it was just weird but really cool.
i took the hoteltrain from milan last night and got in this morning. matt had told me a lot of good things about the train. because if this i was a little upset when the i entered it into the SMALLEST hallway i have ever seen. i had my huge backpacking backpack, a big duffel and a small duffel. i couldnt turn around int he hallway and i had to do like 3-point turns by going in the a room partially. also there was no place to put our bags so they were just piled int he middle of the room. my two roomates were lus, a 50-60 yr old peruvian woman who spoke spanish and a tiny bit of english and tamara, a 50-60 yr old russian woman who spoke only russian. it was a little awkard at first but lus was really nice. the awkwarness got to a high point at the french border when tamara didnt have a passport and was detained by the french police and taken off the fucking train!! i feel bad for her but honestly, i dont know how she even go into italy without a passport. this morning lus said almost nothing to me which made me think that i probably made my noise and she was bitter. oh well.
barcelona is really really sweet. today we went to this awesome park with palm trees and a big fountain. brett and maybe beckley get here on friday which im pumped for. also i just ran into a girl who i played soccer with when i was younger.
well i am in caseys school using the internet and i feel like im starting to get some looks. peace out.

Schneechaos in germany
to begin, i will explain my title. then i will explain the title of my last post which evidently caused some confusion. schnee is snow in german. the title of the main story on the news one night was SCHNEECHAOS IN EUROPA. it was really funny and german and matt and i frequently remarked on all the schneechaos, which there was a lot of. as for my last post-bog means hi/bye in croation. it might be pronounced chog-the book said b was pronounced ch but with other words we didnt hear people doing that. anyway, matt and i liked to say CHOG a lot which eventually evolved into us saying CHOG CHOG CHOG (liek chug chug chug). we were saying it while sitting outside a grocery store one day and then laughed about how funny it would be in america to hear some asshole croatian kids chanting HI HI HI (or BYE BYE BYE-n sync HEYOOO).
anyway, i just got back to bologna from munich. munich was really cool and cold (hence the schneechaos). we first took a 10 hour bus ride from dubrovnik to zagreb, croatia. it sucked bc the heaters were so hot that we couldnt put our feet on the floor and it was 10 hours with like 4 pee stops which is hard for me and my brother. then we took a train from zagreb to munich which was fun and pretty. we had a lot of fun while going through austria by doing arnold impressions and decided that the country should have signs at the borders that read "HASTA LA VISTA BABY (but we know you'll be back)" ahahahahha. it makes me laugh. munich was really awesome though. we drank a lot of beer and i ate so much cheese spatzle and felt sick every time. everything in the city is really big which was a little creepy at times. we went to the hofbrauhaus - the biggest/most famous beer hall in munich - for lunch one day. when we sat down this girl came up to us and asked if we were tourists and we said yes. she then said she was from german international tv and wanted to know if we would eat some dishes the chef had specially prepared and answer some questions about them on tv. they brought us our food and we ate it and had to give a thumbs up or thumbs down and then talk about it on camera. it was bizarre. then she asked me about how i had found it being a vegetarian in munich. then they brought is BEER ICE CREAM. it didnt really taste like beer though. they paid for our meal and we got a free liter of beer and basically its cool bc i was on tv. it is some weirdo channel that doesnt play in germany only in other countries but i dont know what countries would want to know about german food. free food and beer and my beautiful face on TV=pretty great and weird.
yesterday we went to see this "cinderella castle". we didnt end up going into it because the tour was an hour from when we got there and it was very very cold. we/i did, on other hand, miss a train bc we were just standing in front of it confused, through out my garbage in basket for umbrellas, miss our bus, and were surrounded by literally hundreds of korean tourists the whole day. it was a day where everything kinda went wrong but was really funny. AND on one of the bus rides the best thing ever happened. there were these grade school kids behind us and they were listening to their ipod very loudly so that we could hear it and guess what song they were listening to?!!?? SCOTTY DOESNT KNOW!!! FROM EUROTRIP. it was the most perfect thing that has every happened to me in my life.
----please look over the things i have made in caps-it is a funny combination.

bog from croatia!
right now i am dubrovnik croatia and it is really really amazing. when i thought eastern europe i usually thought something somewhat similar to bratislava in eurotrip. it is actually in the 60s and sunny (which i guess is unusual) and there are palm trees, really pretty beaches and water, or voda in croatian.
to go back a few days... i landed in bologna and was going to go right to the ferry to come here but my brother and his girlfriend's dog died. it was really sad because she was a great dog and really important to them. because of that we stayed in bologna longer which was really nice actually. i got some quality awkward moments with kelly's roommates who don't speak english. the common words between us were okay, wow and uh-oh. we did watch three hours of grande fratello(big brother) which was entertaining. matt and i went to ravenna one day and i got to see these mosaics that i have wanted to see for a long time. i almost got teary eyed which was embarrassing.
then we took the ferry from ancona (italy) to split (croatia). it was cool. the guy at the restaurant seemed to be pissed off and confused why i didnt eat meat, no not even squid. he said "no meat? not even squid? how old are you?" our room was way down in the depths of the boat and i couldnt help but think of leo, the italian guy and those two confused and angry germans from titanic. luckily my fate was better than theirs.
then we got to croatia. we took a 4.5 hour buss ride to dubrovnik. when we got off we were assaulted by people trying to have us stay at their hotels. one guy even followed us in his car and got out in an intersection to try to entice us. lots of great 80's music. as my brother said its cool that once you cross the iron curtain its all 80's.
in bologna i got the coolest hat EVER. its turquoise and white and puffz and a bomber hat with a small brim. im excited for germany to be cold so i can rock it.

the airport
right now i am in the frankfurt airport. it is very big and i just walked a lot and now i am sweaty. its a little embarrassing bc there are two german businessmen next to me. i have a huge grudge against this airport. i have never been here without having to walk up and down stair unnecessarily. one time i was stuck here overnight by myself. they gave me a hotel room and i got a free dinner and was so distraught that i ordered tomato soup and a bloody mary. evidently tomato in liquid form is comfort food to me. everyone should watch the movie the last king of scotland. it is about uganda and mr tumnus from narnia is in it!!!!! hes the main character, hes scottish, he's got the bod of dan radcliffe and i love him. its very intense and i yelled a little when they kept making announcements about landing at the end of the movie. by yelling i mean i made a semi-loud noise, i didnt yell at anyone. the man next to me was flirting with the flight attendants.
right now this websit is in german and instead of saying new post it says neuer post. something i like about this airport is the sweaters that ze germans who work her wear. they are olive drap, ribbed sweaters with epaulettes. excellent.
next i am going to bologna. i am meeting my bro there and then we are going to ancona (italy) to take a ferry to croatia. its very crazy to think about. i am excited although it doesnt seem real.
PEACE OUT

not traveling but almost...
i realize that i am not officially traveling yet but i have traveled from seattle so it kinda counts. right now it's half time during the bears vs. seahawks game. going pretty well. anyway, i think its funny bc since i am not in seattle watching with friends and im not watching with any friends here i am forcing my parents to fill the void. i am making each of my parents drink at least 2 miller lights that me laura and becky bought with no intention of drinking and that my dad said i should drink before i leave. i am using the "you'll miss me making you drink miller light when im gone" excuse that i used in seattle to make people do things with much success. i put the beers in a portable cooler with a small amount of ice (all that my mom would let me take from the freezer) and brought them upstairs with some chips. i think my dad is embarrassed.
i also bought noodle a cat nip banana and rainbow today. i love to embarrass him.
